No overclocking whatsoever except the card is factory OC’d (“Superclocked”). System: C2 Duo E8400 3 GHz CPU, eVGA 8800GT card (.8122 drivers, Jan 15 of this year), Sonata III case, Audigy 2ZS, Gigabyte EP45-UD3R mobo, 3 SATA HDs, 2 optical drives yadda yadda yadda. I suppose it could be going bad and corrupting the software, or does it work that way? I suppose if none of them are, the game itself is somehow the culprit, but that doesn’t explain how everything was fixed before with uninstalled then updated drivers.Īny advice? The 8800 GT card is less than a year old. How do I reinstall DirectX, if that is the problem? Current version: 9.0c (.0904).įirst, I’m going to see if other games are affected. Also, aren’t the Direct3D tests supposed to show me three different versions of the spinning DirectX cube? For DirectX 7, 8, and 9 I’m getting the greenish cube with the big white X. I did the dxdiag tests and they all come up fine, reportedly, but they take longer than I remember them taking. Well, a couple of weeks later it’s doing it again, even on 2D screens (with the text of course). The last time it happened the only thing that fixed it was uninstalling the graphics card drivers, booting into safe mode, then installing updated ones. Grrr, this has happened twice already: a couple of minutes after starting to play Mount and Blade (Steam version), the graphics all go to crap- first with unreadable text (all blocky) and then with bizarro textures on on all 3D models.
